Most larger clients will handle their own manufacturing engineering and only require industry standard documentation from me during and at the conclusion of my work. However, I have found that a lot of smaller firms benefit from some guidance on how to make a smooth transition from prototypes to a production unit.

The final cost of a product is usually largely determined and "designed in" very early on. Knowing how much things cost, both in part and process costs and where real saving can be had is something I bring to the table. Having worked with many service providers and OEMs I can give advice on where to go for production and make sure that the necessary documentation is in place.
